spring break: wanaka. i arrived on thursday and did some good riding friday. i stayed at my friend taylors house and hung out with him and my friend mirjam from switzerland. friday was a really windy day and pretty icy so i didnt ride but i signed up for a competition that i would do on saturday. saturday i competed in the 3 star TTR event, the billabong bro down. it was a big air competition on a 65 foot jump, the biggest jump i have ever hit, other then the one at cardies. i ended up doing really well in practice but in the contest i ended up casing the knuckle of the jump, broke 2 toes and sprained my ankle. not bad though for crashing on such a huge jump, it could have been much worse. i ended up in 8th place, enough to help my ranking in TTR jump to 59th. that night, there was a sick closed party for all the riders and people involved in the event, sponsored by bacardi. we had $10,000 of free bacardi to split between about 60 people...needless to say it was a rediculous night. we even played drinking games in the bar--interesting. michaela and i came up with our little blow crew thing too when we were bored-- http://awesomefoursomeshred.blogspot.com checccck it.
since my legs were hurt i didnt ride on sunday and the mountains were closed monday and tuesday anyway because of really bad weather! it was snowing like crazy and super windy.
monday me and my friend nate went to this place called puzzling world.
and tuesday me and my friends nate and blake were bored so we went around wanaka and we ended up climbing this super cool tree in the lake.
wednesday though i was competing in slopestyle in the uni snow games. they invite all the universities throughout nz and a few in australia to compete. we had nice soft snow from the storm on monday/tuesday and it was a little windy but conditions werent too bad! i ended up doing really well my first run, boardslide, toeside entry 5050 on the downrail, backside 3, and then i had no speed for the last flat box so i came up to it, laid on my belly, slid across and did a forward roll off--creativity points? i ended up scoring high enough to win though so that was pretty sweet.

the rest of the week we snowboarded mostly at cardrona and it was AMAZING weather! friday was probably my best day of riding ever. sunny and warm and then i ended up taking some runs with mikkel bang where he helped me finally stomp back three tails on the bigger line. just an epic day of riding alltogether, complete with some gogtan. saturday we brought the camera out and took some photos. here is some of what we got.

on saturday night i went up to coronet peak with my friend ezra and stayed up there in this crazy cabin thing. sorta reminded me of the horror movie død snø. but yeah, we got the snow cats to bring us up the mountain at 2am and ride some freshly groomed trails by moonlight. it was epic. heres a picture of me and ezra sitting at the top on the closed lift.
and thats about it for spring break.
the following weekend i went back to wanaka. it was jamie anderson and dylan bidez's 19th birthdays so we had a nice little party with some friends to celebrate
