day 1 - oslo..waiting day
me and lex waited for elin for 5 hours in oslo sentralstasjon, and then
proceeded to try to use public transportation carrying all our boardbags and luggage. it was a disaster. then we realized we were on the right train going the wrong way. excellent. then we finally got to our stop and realized we had to walk 2km uphill with all our luggage. we took breaks every 10 feet or so. so we finally get to the address with think is thomas', only to have the door opened by an irate babysitter and slammed and locked in our faces. thanks to the nice people (krisstofer, etc) at the oslo tennis club, we were finally able to find it. the apt was really cute-tiny-but cute, and the weirdest thing was that the shower was just a showerhead next to a washing machine in the bathroom. that night we went out on karl johans gate and scoped out some of the local oslo boys..verrra nice.day 2 - oslo...tourist day
we went around and did tourist stuff. saw akker brygge, the castle and so
me other spots around oslo. we went out to the
club until 3am and were escorted home by the norwegian military..haa. it was 430 (and light out still) so we decided not to sleep before our 6am train, and we went and played on the naked statues in frogner park.day 3 - travel day...oslo to bergen train and bergen night
this day was basically spent on the train from oslo to bergen. i met a real nice kid named oddbjørn who occupied me for 8 hrs on the train. heres some pictures of the varying scenery through mid southern norway.

we spent the night skating around bergen and stayed in a hostel.
these pics are taken around midnight.
day 4 - jondal and espeland
we took the bus from bergen to tørviksbygd with our new friend christian. we had to wait in norheimsund for a bus for 2 hours, but after one hour another bus came. the bus driver said his route was over but he would just drive us anyway to 20 minutes to
tørviksbygd. definitely not america! we took the ferry over to jondal and andreas picked us up and drove us up to espeland where camp was. we ended up getting put in this sick ass cabin..with 20 guys . my and lexies room had 2 beds and a ladder loft, and 3 guys ended up being our amazing crazy roommates...henrik, fredric and herman, or hermie the worm as we say.
day 5 - folgefonna and midsummers!
today was our first day shredding. it was full of new friends, weird cows mooing (or screaming, as they do in this part of norway), scary glacier roads, and...drinking! but today was especially special beacuse it was a holiday-midsummers. this is the longest day of the year and the sun just barely sets where we were, and it never gets dark! i dont have one really crazy story about this day other than norwegians know how to drink! and they start at like 13 years old. at one point i think a lawnmower got pushed into a fire, and i am pretty sure i said some dirty norwegian phrases. check out the video..theres pictures in it too.
day 6 -9 - folgefonna camp
these days can be seen in the video too. just lots of trampoline jumping, norwegian, teaching diggers american drinking games, snusing, spending FAR too much money on beer ($30 for 10 cans of beer!), eating bread, cheese and chocolate, listening to the song touch me, drinking, shredding, and everything fun. theres no tv, no internet...nothing to do but just enjoy company, get crazy, try to speak norwegian, snowboard, camp, play volleyball, jump on trampolines, skate, go swimming, go on adventures, cause trouble...it was the most fun ive ever had.
day 10 - end of camp..camping at espeland
our new best friends johanne, mathilde, henrik, hermie and fredrik left today :( but lexie and i hauled all our stuff down to the campsite and set up a tent. which ended up being the size of those kiddie tents you set up in your basement when youre like 5. great. haha. down here we met the guys from smartfish, and some super chill girls (alexandra, maria, elisabeth, and all their friends). this night we partied with the fonna staff and taught them flip cup and played some beer pong with bottle caps. i believe some moonshine was busted out as well....theres a few pics of this night in the video.
day 11 and 12 - espeland and folgefonna
out last days at fonna. we met soo many new friends and partied so hard and norwegian style. we shredded as much as we could..and on monday we hung in the lodge since it was monday rave day. interesting..haha. we also fell in love with norwegian waffles (even tho they were 4 bucks a peice) with that white cream stuff and some raspberry jam or something. ive got some good stories from these nights but--what happens in norway, stays in norway and i think ill leave these stories there. one thing i can tell you is the last night, i got 72 bug bites on my legs. and i was wearing 3/4 length spandex! those bugs are ruthless. we had to gansta steeze out and throw on some bandanas...
day 13 - bergen airport
we slept and snused in the airport for 15 hours. it was interesting and a bittersweet break from the craziness that was our week. we shed a few tears as we left peices of us at fonna
soo overall heres some things that we took back from norway...
-"du e fin, skal vi klin? slutt å tull, vi ska knull!"
-"kan jeg bumme en snus?"
-"dritt sekk!" and of course, "hva faen!"
-there are too many mosquitos in norway.
-the never ending daylight messes with you...but you get used to the sun starting to set at 11:30 pm and it being ALMOST dark at 2am, only to realize the sun is rising again at 3. we saw the sunrise every morning
-norwegians know how to party.
-norway is the most expensive place in the world.
-there are a lot of swedes that snowboard in norway in the summer. i mean A LOT.
-norwegians are the most genuine people i have met. if they dont like you they dont pretend to, they just dont talk to you. good thing they love americans!
-there are no lawsuits in norway. you can have 20 kids on one trampoline, double bouncing eachother and bouncing from one trampoline to the next to the 7 others next to it.
-cows and sheep roam freely on the roads...barely wide enough for one car and with steep cliffs on either side. and they are two way roads.
-norwegians are really good drivers. and their lisences cost over $2000 us dollars.
-norwegian guys are really hot. and they dont hit on you like american guys.
-the most played song we heard was gunthers, touch me.
-sausage fests are common and welcomed in norway.
-its really fun to not understand everything that goes on. its nice to try to understand people using body language, tone, facial expression and actions. i miss not hearing norwegian all the time. and norwegians, dont understand pig latin!
-if someone looses a football (soccerball) in the water, and YOU get it for them, dont expect to keep it..cuz they might shoot you. (ok this isnt common but its a sorta funny story)
-SNUS!!! everyone snuses. and not the kind we have in america. real snus. from sweden.
-weed is looked at as bad as heroin. we did not meet one person who smoked weed our entire trip.
-there are a LOT of freestyle skiiers in norway. and a lot of inline skating, which is cool there.
-you can skate anywhere and not get busted.
-swedish rap is really good
-it is possible to live off dry bread, cheese, chocolate, and beer. and mr lee (like cup of noodles) you actually lose weight too.
-norway is the most amazing country with the best people we have ever met.
soo yeah. now im sitting in the airport again, waiting for my flight to depart to new zealand. i cant wait to see what adventures that i have there..but i already planned my next trip to norway! im going dec 28th...for 2 weeks to bodø. it will be dark all the time and very cold...and i cant wait! im getting to visit sweden too...and its johannes birthday!
ill update when i get to new zealand! ha det!
Even though I already looked at all of the pictures it was really nice to read a day by day break down of the trip. I am so happy that you had such a good time. The pictures are beautiful!!
