lets see just to update you on whats been going on...every night here its a party.
i wont get into the first week..except to tell you that we went on a really fun train trip to the taieri gorge! and this country is beautiful.

saturday night for tims bday i went out to south bar with some crazy scandinavians. we taught some kids all about snus.

sunday night we hung out at leith street and took lots of pictures.
monday night we were here in the flats on great king..so crazy. i didnt know that so many kids blackout before 10am and expect to go to class at 8 the next morning. then again, most kids here dont go to class. i was like one of 5 kids in one of my classes.

tuesday night me and my friend casey decided to go find something fun to do, and we met these random kids on the street outside baa and they told us to follow them to a party.and we heard it from a 1/2 mile away...200 kids, hollywood movie style crazy party. kids hanging out windows...the room with the dancefloor was bending with the weight and moving up and down as kids were dancing. we had to climb out a window to get out!

wednesday we went to the on campus bar and there was soo many kids and a battle of the bands concert. during the day was the cook-a-thon, where everyone in the city dresses up like halloween and gets really drunk starting at 10am and goes to captain cook bar. i had class so i didnt get to join but it was a rowdy scene all day! thursday night we went to an im on a boat party...we'll leave it at that.

and now were at friday. during the days basically i just go to class, and explore dunedin. today we went to the giant jaffa race on baldwin street. baldwin st is the steepest street in the world! they roll 30,000 cadbury jaffa candies (little orange chocolate balls) down the street! they all have a number on them (see paulas hand) and the first 5 are winners and people with those tickets win thousands of dollars in prizes! we didnt win tho...

but anyways...this place is so fun. people are so friendly and the city is really vibrant and young. its such a college feel, and no one is here to hate--its all about meeting new people and having fun.
so im kinda tired and i have an early morning so its off to bed before an amazing weekend in wanaka and queenstown!
