a few thoughts...us open post to come

so a norwegian friend just asked me to tell him the difference i notice between americans and norwegians...i thought it was blog worthy so these are my thoughts...

realism. norwegians are so real. theres no bullshit, if someone doesnt like you they just dont. and they dont bother trying to fluff it up and break it easy...they just leave you alone, and u know it. they dont waste their time on you. an american (not everyone but a lot) will be super nice to everyone even those they hate and then stab them in the back. and they even stab those in the back that they love. thats because americans have been taught to get anywhere in life you have to put yourself first. ultimately you are the only one you have to live with so your needs come before anyone elses. in norway, friendships are real. you can really trust people and not think about how you act in front of them. you can just be who you are and have an understanding that the people that accept you for that, are your friends. i have never walked out of a room in america, even with some of my closest "friends" and not wondered what they said about me when i left. i have never ONCE in norway worried about what people say about me or what people think, because i just know. norway is real, norway is brutally honest, and norway realizes how to truly care for friends and other people. life isnt always about number one (unless it has to be)...but norwegians are more mature and can see how to treat others and most often have a carefree attitude. norwegians know how to see the good in many situations where americans are always seeking the negative so they can find people to feel bad for them. i always say, tenk på det some en nordmann--"be norwegian about it." and it has gotten me places..though not every american is how i described and of course there are going to be norwegians that are exceptions...this is in general. and this is why i know im meant to be there.

soon ill post a blog from the us open and last call! >
